Doors open 6.00pm - Performance starts 7.00pm and runs for 1 hour.
Wintering is
a new contemporary dance work inspired by the fragility
and strength of an iced landscape.
Created by West Australian choreographer Aimee Smith; Wintering uses dance along with imagery and
sounds collected from her photographic expedition to the Arctic Circle as part
of the 2010 Arctic Circle Project.
Wintering asks audiences to consider what it is like to live in a
changing and disintegrating world, to sit with the tension of beauty and
destruction, hope and fear.
Wintering is touring to Mandurah, Margaret River, Albany and
Ravensthorpe after performances in Perth at the Studio in the
State Theatre Centre of WA.

Bread, Finger food and Chocolate Fountain/Tea and Coffee

A digital photography exhibition of slides of images taken
by Aimee Smith in the Arctic will also be displayed at the venue.

wine and Mulled Cider NO BYO
Free Bus departs from outside
Hopetoun School at 5.00pm, returns to Hopetoun approx 9.15pm
Also as part of this event Aimee will be
running a 1 hour free dance workshop for male/female participants aged 14 years
+ from 2 – 3 pm in Ravensthorpe
