Found Art Project

Sculpted animals are popping up all over the place as students from RDHS participate in a 'found art' project coordinated by Mel Daw of the Ravy Arts Council. Stories from the sculptures' travels are being shared by the people who discover them in obscure places and are inspired or touched by their encounter with the whimsical wire creatures. To read some of these stories click on the found art tab at the top of the page - or from the blog list to your right. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled, you never know where the next one is hiding!

Drawing figures and making a mark at fri night art!

Braving the cold and drizzle, a stalwart few made it to this weeks Friday art gathering and put pencil, ink, charcoal, pastel and bleach, (yes bleach) to paper!
Taking it in turns to hold 30 sec to 2 min poses the aim was to play with the materials and draw expressive and gestural lines.
Part two continues next Friday, hope to see you at the Dunnart gallery, Ravensthorpe 7pm

Successful Funding Application!!

Exciting news: we have been successful in our grant application to CANWA's Sharing Stories fund (Community Arts Network WA) for the upcoming exciting project with Carina Hoang, the author of 'Boat People'. This was a very competitive and over subscribed pool and is a partnership funding program between CANWA and Healthway.

You can read more about CANWA through a link to their website (see right) or by looking through their recent publication, which is on the coffee table at the Ravensthorpe Community Resource Centre's lounge area!
